As part of Public Works Week, the Decatur Public Works Department invites the community to an open house from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the Public Works facility at 2635 Talley St..
According to the City of Decatur website, plans for the new Public Works building will be displayed. During renovation, into 9,400 square feet of leased office-warehouse space at 2716 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.
You can also see the cool vehicles and find out the latest about stormwater, composting, recycling and sustainability procedures. The tour of Public Works is one of the highlights of Decatur 101 every year – come by and see what’s in the works for Public Works.
The week ends with a special employee appreciation pot-luck lunch at Public Works.
