Oakhurst Restaurants Raise Money for Injured Officer

Universal Joint, Steinbeck's will donate 15 percent of total sales on Aug. 10.

Two Oakhurst restaurants are helping to raise money for an injured Atlanta police officer.

Patrick Apoian, an investigator in of the Atlanta Police Department, was hurt when he was run over by a person he was investigating in connection to a burglary.

Kyle Caldwell, vice president of the East Lake Neighbors Community Association Inc., said the group has a goal of raising enough to cover the family mortgage for eight months. To that end,Β  the in Oakhurst will donate 15 percent of total sales to Apoian and his family on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

Caldwell urges residents to stop in for lunch, dinner and drinks.

"Enjoy some great food and know that your good times will really take a load off Pat and his family as he thankfully, continues on the road to a speedy recovery," Caldwell said.
