Oakhurst Elementary Modulars on Agenda

The Decatur City Commission will consider allowing the units during renovations at the school.

The Decatur City Commission on Monday will consider allowing three modular buildings to be placed at during school renovations.

The city school system needs more classrooms there because the number of lower-grade students in that neighborhood has increased. The modular units would contain six classrooms for the upcoming school year.

Construction would start in January and end by the fall of 2013. Plans call for four classrooms in an older wing to be demolished and eight new classrooms added.
