Some of the highlights of the Monday meeting, as first reported by Decatur Metro:

  • Walmart wants to move into space now occupied by a thrift store and a mattress store.
  • Overall, the Walmart would be 147,000 square feet with 40,000 square feet dedicated to groceries.
  • Walmart would have about 500 underground parking places, which the retail chain would pay for.
