Georgia's Tax-Free Holiday This Weekend

On Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10 and 11, there will be no sales tax on many things kids will need as they start the school year.

Parents and teachers will get a break at the cash register this weekend on back-to-school needs.

The State of Georgia is bringing back its Tax-Free Holiday. On Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10 and 11, shoppers will be exempt from paying taxes on everything from school clothes to notebooks to notebook computers.

Do you plan to take advantage of the Tax-Free Holiday or have you already completed your back to school shopping? Tell us in the comments section below.

Most clothing and footwear with a sales price under $100 is exempt. Computers, tablets, printers and other technology and accessories under $1,000 will avoid state sales tax.

Exceptions include cell phones, copy machines and digital cameras. School supplies under $20 will also be exempt. This includes pens, calculators and book bags.
