Homeowner's Night

Homeowner’s Nights in the Planning, Zoning & Inspections (PZI) department at City Hall are designed for residents to meet with city officials and discuss planning and zoning issues related to individual properties.

City staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on renovating or constructing a home in Decatur.  Homeowners can find out what the zoning allows, what construction is required, what inspections need to occur, and how the permitting process works.  If you live in a historic house, you can find out about possible tax incentive programs and any location designation requirements.
