Early Voting Poll Opens in Decatur

You can vote through Friday at the Clark Harrison Building on West Ponce.

Early voting for the July 31 primary just became extremely convenient for people in Decatur.

A polling place will Monday-Friday at the Clark Harrison Building at 330 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur. You can vote 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • South DeKalb: Community Achievement Center, Inc., 4522 Flat Shoals Parkway, Decatur  30034.
  • North DeKalb: Chamblee City Hall, 5468 Peachtree Road, Chamblee  30341
  • East DeKalb: New Bethel AME, 8350 Rockbridge Road, Lithonia  30058
  • Tucker Recreation Center, 4898 LaVista Road, Tucker  30084
  • DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections main office, 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur.

Besides that, candidates are running in Democratic and Republican primaries for U.S. Congress, DeKalb County Board of Commissioner, DeKalb School Board and other local offices.

Go to the DeKalb County Voters Registration and Elections Office webpage and look at sample ballots to find out who is running.

The primary will be held Tuesday, July 31, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If a runoff is required, it will be held Aug. 21.

Redistricting: Because of redistricting, some voters may find themselves in new congressional and state House and Senate districts. They may even end up going to a new polling place. To figure out what districts you now live in, go to the "My Voter Page" part of the Georgia Secretary of State webpage. Also, the DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections office will be sending all registered voters new precinct cards in the next two weeks.

New polling places: Some polling places in the Avondale Estates are are changing. Voters who used to go to Avondale Middle School and the Covington Highway Library will now go to  Avondale Pattillo United Methodist Church.
