Decatur To Hold Annexation Info Session Dec. 3

The Decatur Commission and the Decatur School Board will hold important meetings in the annexation process in upcoming weeks.

The City of Decatur is in the final stages of deciding whether to move ahead with annexing about 2,000 people into the city.

Upcoming dates in the process.

  • Monday, Dec. 3. Decatur Commission to hold a a final information meeting on annexation.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 5. The Decatur School Board will hold a 5:30 p.m. work session and hear an update on numerical projections based on annexation.Β 
  • Tuesday, Dec. 11. The Decatur School Board is expected to make a recommendation to the Decatur Commission about annexation.
  • Monday, Dec. 17. The Decatur Commission is scheduled to decide whether to move ahead with annexation. The commission would have to ask legislators to pass a bill allowing a referendum in November 2013.
