Avondale Estates Seeks to Fill Historic Preservation Commission Seats

The Avondale Estates Historic Preservation Commission/Architectural Review Board has two open seats it is looking to fill.

The deadline to apply is Monday, Oct. 21.

The board — comprised of volunteer residents — seek those with an interest in architecture, history, planning, landscape architecture and/or other historic preservation-related disciplines.

The Architectural Review Board is charged with regulating the design of all non-residential zoning districts outside the Historic District.

Its core mission is to ensure that new development remains compatible with the traditional architecture of the adjacent properties.

 The HPC/ARB consists of 5 members who are appointed by the Board of Mayor and Commissioners and each serve 3-year terms.

The HPC/ARB holds regular meetings on the first Monday of each month and the meetings are open to the public.
