She discovered the theft through an email alert saying her Red Box movie rental card had been used. She later discovered charges were made on one of her credit cards at the Game Stop and Kroger in the Edgewood Retail Plaza at Moreland Avenue and Caroline Street.

She only left her office for 10 minutes to go to the restroom and returned to find the office door left open and the outer door to the building also open. Also taken were her drivers license and checkbook.
