Update: Police Report on Oakhurst Burglary That Was Captured on Video

The homeowner posted a video of people leaving his house with wrapped Christmas presents on Dec. 24.

Update: The Decatur Police Department provided Patch with an incident report on the burglary at a Fayetteville Road residence in Oakhurst. Here's a synopsis of the report:

The man living next door to the house that was burglarized called police about 9:30 a.m. Dec. 24 after walking by and noticing the front door ajar and splintered. Knowing the resident was out of town, the neighbor called him and left a voice mail.

Police officers arrived and found the door broken with a footprint in the middle where somebody apparently kicked the door in. Officers went inside and found a few presents strewn about, drawers open and an electronics center that was not holding any electronics.

Police talked to the resident, who said he secured the house before leaving the afternoon of Dec. 23. The resident said these items were missing from the house: a 32-inch Dell flat screen television, an Apple iPad 2, an Apple iMac computer, a Nikon SLR camera, and multiple Christmas presents.  Inside the Christmas presents were the following items:  a duffle bag, BCBG jump suit, pajamas, slippers, a Chaps sweater and shirt, a laptop sleeve, headphones, a white robe, a blue and black Mountain Hardwear jacket, a pair of shoes, and a pair of corduroy pants.

The resident said he'd call police once he found serial numbers for the electronics.

Original story: A resident of Fayetteville Road in Oakhurst has posted a video on YouTube that shows the Christmas Eve morning burglary of his house on YouTube.

The video starts with a gray car pulling into the driveway and a passenger going to the front door. When nobody answers, a few other men get out of the car and walk onto othe porch.

The camera shakes, apparently because the front door was being pushed open. The men run up and down the stairs with objects in their arms, including wrapped Christmas packages. The men get into the car and drive away.

The resident also posted this message Dec 24 on the Oakhurst Neighborhood Association message board:
