Traffic Blocked As Truck Hits Utility Pole On West Trinity in Decatur

The street near the courthouse will be blocked for several hours.

Traffic near the DeKalb County Courthouse was rerouted Wednesday morning after a truck struck a utilty pole on West Trinity near Greene's Fine Foods.

Decatur Fire Chief Toni Dixon said about 11 a.m. Wednesday that she expected the street to be blocked several more hours, until Georgia Power replaces the pole.

The accident happened about 7:30 a.m. Nobody was injured, she said.

On Sunday afternoon, , about half a block from the site of the Wednesday accident. A traffic light fell to the pavement.

The Sunday accident blocked the street for several hours but didn't cause much disruption because few businesses in the area were open on Sunday, but the Wednesday wreck came during morning rush hour.
