No weapon was produced or threatened. The victims were not harmed.
The Decatur Police Department issued this alert:
On 10/11/13 at approximately 10:42 pm, Decatur Police responded to a robbery on the Decatur Square. Two DeKalb County teens, one male and one female, reported they had just gotten up to leave from sitting in the gazebo when they were approached by two males in their mid-30’s. The two older males asked the teen female questions such as her name, age and what school she attended and then asked the teen male if he was interested in buying or selling “weed”, which he declined. One of the older males then produced a ten dollar bill and asked the teen male if he had change. The teen male removed his wallet and handed over two five dollar bills at which time the older male reached over and removed an additional twenty dollar bill from the wallet. Both older males then turned and walked away and the male who took the money stated, “You know what it is.” The two older males were last seen walking south on North McDonough Street. The teen male verbally tried to get the two older males to stop but was ignored.
The two suspects were described as follows:
Suspect #1: Black male, approximately 5’11 and 160 lbs, unshaven face, wearing a gray oversized hoodie and dark jeans.
Suspect #2: Black male, approximately 6’0 and 130 lbs, with short hair and a receding hairline, wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt.
No weapon was produced or threatened. The victims were not harmed.
