DeKalb County Police have a arrested a man they believe may possibly be the “ring leader” connected to a series of recent home burglaries around East Lake.

Christopher Dennis, 18, was arrested on Feb. 19 on a felony charge of theft by receiving stolen firearm, as well as two counts of felony burglary connected to incidents on Jan. 29.

Detective J.D. Robinson of the DeKalb Police Criminal Investigations Division told Patch that Dennis, who goes by the alias Lil’ Chris, is scheduled for a first appearance hearing Friday evening in DeKalb County Magistrate Court.

The hearing is set for 9 p.m. for area residents interested in attending at DeKalb Magistrate Court, located at 3630 Camp Circle in Decatur.

Local authorities, including those from the Decatur Police Department and Atlanta Police Department have for several weeks been investigating a series of home burglaries in the neighborhoods of East lake and Oakhurst that they believe may be connected.

A previous version of this story mentioned the neighborhood of Kirkwood. That has been corrected to reflect the East Lake neighborhood.
