A robber who reportedly left the scene of the crime in tears when he couldn’t disconnect a hotel security camera has been arrested.
DeKalb County sheriff’s officials arrested a man Thursday morning in connection with the armed robbery of the Days Inn on Northlake Parkway in Tucker on June 23. Teundre Jason Burston, 30, is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
DeKalb County Police said surveillance video shows a man with a gun robbing a woman working alone as a clerk at the hotel.
"(He) went into the office, grabbed her gun drawn and took her straight over to the cash drawer," Detective P.A. Wright told WSB TV.
The man believed to be Burston can be seen taking cash from the register. Wright says the suspect then told the clerk he would shoot if she didn't give him keys to the safe and access to the security camera, but the clerk said she didn't know how to do so.
"At that point he was so frustrated, he left crying," Wright told the TV station, likely realizing his face was captured on video.
The clerk told investigators Burston left in tears. On the security video he can be seen wiping his face with his hands as he left the motel.
