Sketches, Photo of Decatur Robbery Suspects

The website www.crimestoppersatlanta.com posted sketches of two suspects in the Commerce Drive armed robbery and a photo from the Wahoo! Grill holdup. Rewards are offered for information that leads to arrest and indictment.

Sketches and a photo from two recent Decatur armed robberies have been posted on the website www.crimestoppersatlanta.com.

If anybody provides information leading to an arrest and indictment, they could earn a reward of up to $2,000.

The sketches show the two suspects in the March 15 armed robbery of a woman walking with her grandson in the 900 block of Commerce Drive.

Decatur police said two men, one carrying a black semi-automatic handgun, approached and demanded the woman's cell phone before running away.

The suspect with the handgun was described as being a black male in his early twenties, about 5-foot-10 with a dark complexion, close cut hair, muscular thin build and no facial hair. He was wearing a black hoodie and dark wash blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a black male in his early twenties, about 5-foot-10 with medium brown complexion, thin build and no facial hair. He was wearing a blue nylon zip-up jacket, blue jeans and a blue ball cap with a red bill.

The photo shows the March 31 armed robbery of the Wahoo! Grill on East College Avenue.

Police said three men dressed in black and wearing masks arrived after the customers had left. An employee taking out the trash was struck in the head with a pistol and knocked unconscious.

The three men went inside, forced employees to lie on the floor and fled with money from a tip jar and four bottles of alcohol.

The victims could not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects.

Decatur police have reported seven robberies in the city since Feb. 7, six of them armed robberies.

Arrests have been made in one robbery. On the night of Sunday, April 7, a juvenile grabbed a phone from an outside restaurant table on East Court Square and ran away. Police captured four juveniles and charged them with robbery. No weapon was used.
