Pedestrian Robbed in Juvenile Justice Center Parking Lot

The victim told Avondale Estates police two men, one with a pistol, robbed her as she walked to the Kensington Marta Station.

A woman told Avondale Estates police she was robbed early Wednesday morning while walking through the Juvenile Justice Center parking lot at 3408 Covington Highway.

She told officers she was heading to work and walking to the Kensington Marta Station when two males approached her about 5:10 a.m. in the lot.

One of the suspects held what appeared to be a .38 caliber pistol. They took her money and left, police said. The woman was not injured.

The suspects were described as black males, both about 18-19 years old and 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds.

One suspect was wearing a red bandanna, brown hoddie-style jacket and army fatigue pants. The second suspect wore navy-colored blue jeans.

Police are also investigating two auto break-ins reported the morning of Jan. 3 at residences in the 100 block of Kensington Road. A wallet was taken from one vehicle. Both vehicles were unlocked, police said.
