Laptop, iPod, Cash Reported Stolen in Decatur

Police also investigated the theft of a motor scooter, a bicycle and a blower.

A laptop and an iPod were reported stolen Aug. 1. A man working at a residence in the 100 block of North McDonough Street left his laptop on a table in the front office at the house and worked at another part of the property. When he returned, the Samsung laptop was gone. The woman who lives in the house checked her car and discovered her iPod was missing. The laptop was valued at $1,200, the iPod at $100.

A woman said Aug. 2 that $600 cash was stolen from her purse. She and a fellow employee of a cleaning service were working at a residence in the 400 block of Lockwood Terrace when the other woman asked to use the first woman's cellphone. The woman went to the car to get the phone out of the first woman's purse, made the call, then asked to be taken back to the office because she had a headache. When the first woman went to the bank July 31 she noticed the money missing.

A woman said her motor scooter was stolen from her driveway. She left the 2005 TGB 303C scooter at her residence in the 200 block of Geneva Street on July 31 and noticed it missing Aug. 3. The vehicle was valued at $2,500.

A man reported Aug. 3 that a blower worth $600 was stolen from a work trailer parked at Saint Thomas More Church on West Ponce. He bound all the equipment together with a chain and discovered somebody had cut one link to free the blower.

A woman said her red 2012 Jamis Commuter bike was stolen July 26 her her home int he 700 block of Oakview Road. She last saw the bike secured with a cable at her apartment.
