Jewelry Valued At $8,000 Stolen From Superior Ave. Home

A man told Decatur police the jewelry was stolen while he worked in his yard April 20.

A man living in the 200 block of Superior Avenue told Decatur police that jewelry was stolen from his house April 20 while he worked in the yard.

The man said he went outside about 2 p.m. and came back inside around 4:30 p.m. He went into his office and noticed his jewelry box sitting on a dresser drawer with the lid open, the investigation report stated.

Listed as missing were two pairs of gold cufflinks, two gold rings, a gold bracelet and a silver bracelet. In all, the man valued the jewelry at $8,000.

The resident said the house was locked while he worked in the yard. Police couldn't find an entry point for an intruder.
