GPS Stolen From Car In Avondale

Avondale also charge couple with fighting after municipal court.

are investigating the theft of a Garmin global positioning system reported stolen Sept. 13 from a vehicle on Majestic Circle.

The vehicle owner told police he arrived home about midnight and left his vehicle unlocked in the driveway with two other vehicles.

The next morning he noticed the GPS and some loose change missing and called police. The GPS was valued at $100.

Avondale police said they arrested a man and woman Sept. 8 after the couple argued and struck each other in city hall after municipal court.

Jason Quinn Nixon, 27, of Decatur and Daeshae Simpson, 24, were both charged with simple battery and jailed.

Police said the couple was arguing after Simpson left court and were asked to go to another part of the building. Simpson returned crying and said Nixon struck her while she held her baby, police said.

Officers said they found a small welt on her face. Nixon denied striking Simpson, police said, but said she struck him. Police found small welts on his face and decided to charged Simpson, too.
