DeKalb Man Charged With Child Exploitation

A man arrested by DeKalb County police had a sizable number of images of children in sexually explicit videos and photos. There is no indication he had contact with area children at his home, authorities said.

A DeKalb County man was arrested in connection with a child pornography sting for allegedly possessing sexually explicit videos and photos of children.

Selvin Haroldo Ortiz-Luna, 34, was charged with child exploitation, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"Our Internet Crimes Against Children unit had been engaged in a proactive investigation since October," DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish told the newspaper.

Parish said Luna possessed "a significant number of materials” showing children in sexually explicit situations. Investigators confiscated Luna's computer to analyze it.

"There's no indication that he had contact with children or had any (children) inside the home," Parish said.

Luna is being held at the DeKalb County Jail, authorities said.
