Decatur Police Charge Two in Burglary Captured on Video

It happened on Christmas Eve morning. The burglars kicked in the door of an Oakhurst house and stole electronics and presents.

Demarco Termeri Riley, 18, of the 900 block of Bolton Road, Atlanta, was charged with burglary Sept. 28 and is now in the DeKalb Jail. A juvenile was arrested several months earlier, said Sgt. Jennifer Ross, a Decatur police investigator.

Ross said police are looking for two other other suspects believed to be juveniles.

The burglary at a house on Fayetteville Road caused outrage beyond the borders of Decatur because it was captured on video and posted on YouTube, where it has been viewed about 18,000 times.

The video starts with a gray car pulling into the driveway and a passenger going to the front door. When nobody answers, a few other men get out of the car and walk onto othe porch.

The camera shakes, apparently because the front door was being kicked down. The men run up and down the stairs with objects in their arms, including wrapped Christmas packages. The men get into the car and drive away.

Riley was difficult to locate because he uses more than one name, Ross said.

"We have been actively working this case since December," she said. "We didn't announce it to the public because we were trying to identify the other two kids."
