Decatur Police Charge Man With Making Threats At Library

Man in municipal court jailed for allegedly spitting on the judge.

This information comes from Decatur police reports.

Pogo Mochello Reese, 41, was arrested the night of Feb. 27 and charged with aggravated assault and other charges after causing a disturbance at the Decatur Library.

A library security guard said the problem started when he and the head librarian asked Reese to leave the building.

Reese yelled, made aggressive comments, tried to hit the guard with his foot and threatened to strike the guard with a two-foot wooden dowel he was carrying.

Reese left the building. Police were called and an officer encountered Reese in the 400 block of Church Street, where Reese reportedly said, "I know Karate! You don't know who you are dealing with!"

The officer arrested Reese and took him to the DeKalb County Jail. Reese was also charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threats. His address was listed as "homeless" in online booking records.

Arrested in court: Pierre Cadet, 29, was arrested Feb. 23 after allegedly spitting on Decatur Municipal Court Judge Berryl Andersson.

Cadet was in municipal court for a first appearance about 5:45 p.m. when he suddenly stood up, lunged toward the judge and "forcefully expelled saliva from his mouth toward Judge Anderson with the saliva landing on her hands and on the front of her clothing," the police report stated.

Cadet was taken from the courtroom and charged with terroristic threats, obstruction of an officer, disorderly conduct and simple battery. His address was listed as "homeless" in online booking records.

Auto theft: A woman reported the night of Feb. 24 that her mother's 1996 Honda Accord was stolen from the 100 block of Sycamore Place. Items inside the car included a GPS worth $200, three Wilson tennis rackets worth $240, a Prince tennis racket worth $80 and four pairs of shoes worth $500.

Truck for scrap metal? A man's 1977 Chevrolet truck apparently was stolen from the DeKalb County parking garage and sold as scrap metal to a recycling firm in Morrow.

The truck owner called police Feb. 24 to report the truck missing. He said a friend called and reported seeing the truck towed into United Recycling on Citizens Parkway in Morrow.

The truck owner said he called and was told the truck and two other vehicles were towed into United Recycling and sold as scrap metal. Police advised the truck owner to go to the company to verify his truck was on their property.
