Decatur Crime Report: January Arrests

On Jan. 16, Decatur police investigators arrested a 17-year-old male from DeKalb County for burglary, theft by taking of an auto, driving while unlicensed and three counts of leaving the scene of an accident which stemmed from a previously reported incident that has been under investigation. On Dec. 8, 2013, at approximately 3:32 p.m., Decatur police responded to the report of a burglary and theft of an auto in the 100 block of Olympic Place.  The complainants stated they were driving back to their home and passed their other vehicle coming from the direction of their home. The suspect ran a red light and struck another vehicle in the area.  The stolen vehicle was located abandoned on a nearby residential street a short time later and two additional parked vehicles had been struck. 

On Jan. 14, 2014, Decatur police investigators arrested a homeless 58-year-old male for a burglary that occurred in the 300 block of West Ponce de Leon Avenue on Jan. 13, 2014.
