Van Taken From Decatur Church Lot

Another vehicle was reported stolen, but had actually been impounded by DeKalb police.

 This information comes from Decatur Police Department reports.

Van stolen. A woman told police she left her 2003 Dodge Caravan in the rear of the parking lot of the Decatur United Methodist Church about 10 a.m. Sept. 6. When she returned around 7:30 p.m., the vehicle was gone.    

Cadillac not stolen. A different woman told police Sept. 5 that her friend's 1983 Cadillac Deville had been taken from the parking lot at Holy Trinity Church at 510 E. Ponce de Leon Ave. She borrowed the car, parked it about 8:30 a.m. and discovered it gone at 10 a.m. Later police discovered the car had been impounded by DeKalb County police.

Purse stolen, returned. A girl told police she put her purse on the ground next to a picnic table near East Court Square Sept. 2 and realized half an hour later it was missing. Five days later, the girl's mother called police to say the purse had been returned with all its belongs except some cash.
