Van Stolen in Avondale Estates

Woman reports a handbag was taken from her car.

This information comes from Avondale Estates police reports.

A resident of Sutton Place told police his vehicle was stolen.

The man said he last saw his 1999 Dodge Caravan about 4 p.m. May 5. When he went back to the vehicle at 8:50 a.m. on May 6, it was gone.

He valued the van at $5,000.

A woman said her purse was stolen from her car while parked outside the Salvation Army store.

The woman said she went into the store at 2857 E. College Ave. at 12:30 p.m. May 5 and returned to her 1999 Honda about an hour later.

She said the purse had about $40 cash inside it.

A Decatur teenager was arrested and charged with shoplifting at Rite Aid Pharmacy at 4110 Memorial Drive.

Police said Montez Octavious Johnson, 17, took about $10 in household goods on May 3.
