Avondale PD: Man Snatched Money From Purse

The crime victim was a 65-year-old woman.

This information comes from Avondale Estates police.

A 65-year-old woman said a pedestrian she met on Covington Highway reached into her purse and grabbed cash and a Marta pass.

The woman had shopped at Rite Aid about 7 p.m. July 18 and crossed the road to walk to the Kensington Marta Station.

A man walked up and asked for money. When she said no, the man suddenly thrust his hand into her purse and grabbed her purse change and a Marta Breeze Card.

He walked away, removed the money from the purse and and tossed the purse aside. The woman valued the loss at $1.95.
