The Avondale Estates Police Department would like the community to be aware of a scam going around, allowing people to get in your home. The way it seems to be working is that individuals are knocking on front doors and talking about tree work or utility line work and that they need to access your backyard or your neighbors. While this is going on and you are taking them to your backyard the other person who is usually waiting in a car in the driveway enters your house and takes whatever they can.

BE ALERT...SAY NO to these types of door calls. Don't open your doors to these people and immediately call 911.
