Avondale Estates Police Making Burglary Arrests

Charges filed in residential break-ins on Fairfield Drive and Kensington Road.

Avondale Estates police have arrested two suspects and are seeking a third in an Oct. 15 residential burglary in the 100 block of Fairfield Drive.

Detective Tom Gillis said the woman who lives there came home and discovered two intruders in her back yard. She yelled at them and they jumped a fence and ran into Avondale Station Apartments, dropping some stolen items at they ran.

The house was entered through an unlocked window. About $2,300 in goods were stolen

A 20-year-old man who lives in Southern Pines Apartments and a female juvenile have been arrested.

Gillis didn't provide the man's name, saying it could endanger the search for the third suspect. The female's name won't be released because she's a juvenile.

Gillis said he is taking out an arrest warrant for a second suspect in the Sept. 10 buglary of a house in the 3100 block of Kensington Road. Two firearms and a flat screen television were taken.

The new warrant is for an adult female, he said. Last week police charged a 17-year-old male from Ellenwood in the burglary.
