A neighbor reported seeing a white Chevrolet Tahoe pull up their neighbor’s driveway and turn around behind the house. The neighbor told police that a black man wearing a ski mask and gray hoodie exited the front passenger door of the Tahoe, walked onto the the rear porch and attempted to gain entry to the home with some type of blade.

According to the Ross, the subject then noticed the neighbor watching and ran back and entered the passenger side of the Tahoe, which sped south on Third. No items were taken.

The Tahoe is the same type of vehicle used during a rash of recent home burglaries in the Oakhurst and Kirkwood neighborhoods, but Ross did not indicate whether authorities believe the attempted theft was connected to those incidents.
