Agnes Scott Police File Weapons Charges

Man living in Avery Glen Apartments jailed Friday after police find knives.

police arrested Robert William Buschbaum early Friday and charged him with three counts of having a weapon on school property.

Buschbaum was taken into custody about 6 a.m. at , which are owned by the college and are part of the campus, Agnes Scott police Lt. Guy Antinozzi said.

 Antinozzi said officers found two knives but no firearms. He declined to provide any other details about the weapons.

Buschbaum is not a student or employee of the school and his name was not on the apartment lease, Antinozzi said.

Agnes Scott juniors and seniors live at Avery Glen, located at of 339 E. College Ave., according to the college website. However, some apartments are leased to the general public.

Antinozzi said Agnes Scott police, with assistance from Decatur police and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s office, made the arrest after receiving information about weapons.

All the charges are felonies. Buschbaum was recently released on $20,000 bond, Antinozzi said

“Agnes Scott is an extremely safe place,” Antinozzi said. “But sometimes things happen and we’re very proactive in our approach.”
