You Said It: Sunday Sales of Alcohol

This week we're asking business owners, workers and local residents of Decatur and Avondale Estates: How do you feel about the referendum for that's now awaiting Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal's signature? Once signed, each of the state’s 157 counties can hold referendums to decide whether to allow sales.

It's a turning point worthy of celebration. Even if some of the counties in the area don't pass Sunday Sales, the most important factor is giving local communities the right to choose and that hurdle is now behind us. It is a small victory for democracy.

Blue laws are all ridiculous. What I really want is to see every one of them struck down as unconstitutional. As that is highly unlikely, I suppose I should be happy for whatever small bits of progress do occur, and this is one of them.
