HB 60 Georgia's new gun law

On July 1, 2014 guns will be allowed in bars, some churches, and some government buildings where once banned. I voted against the so called Safe Carry Protection Act of 2015 and believe that it’s dangerous to allow guns in bars where alcohol often meets bravado. The new gun law is a geographically polarizing issue between urban areas like Metro Atlanta and rural Georgia. The environment, demographics in urban areas are much different than that of rural parts of Georgia. Thankfully, work was done to make the bill better by giving rights to owners and churches refuse to permit gun on their property. HB 60 was passed with only 58 Representatives voting against the bill.
