Weekend Planner: Caroline Herring, Pro Wrestlng, Stories in the Woods, Casino Night and a Concert on the Square

Get out and do something this weekend. Here are 5 Things you could do.

1. Caroline Herring record release concert. This local favorite will celebrate the release of her sixth album, Camilla, at 8 p.m. Friday at Eddie's Attic at 515 N. McDonough St., Decatur. Tickets are $15 online, $18 at the door.

2. Pro wrestling. The grapplers will enter the ring at the Academy Theatre at 119 Center St., Avondale Estates, at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased online. Take advantage of wrestling while you can -- The Academy Theater will showcase its last match Sept. 28.

3. Stories in the Woods: Woodlands Garden presents a tree-friendly story read by Mia Manekofsky, the Decatur children's librarian, followed by a walk through the woods with volunteer guides. It starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodlands Garden at 932 Scott Blvd., Decatur. 4. . This night of adult fun will benefit Druid Hills football. It starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Avondale Community Club at 59 Lakeshore Drive, Avondale Estates. Tickets are $50 per person, $80 per couple and $30 for school employees and can be purchased online.

At 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, Frankie's Blues Mission perofrms at the Marta Plaza off the Decatur Square. The community bandstand area will not be used while new grass around the old courthouse gets established. Free.
