Why go: Enjoy free food and drinks, carolers, a visit with Santa, ornament painting ($12), silent auction, raffle and an arts and crafts sale. All proceeds benefit the Tara Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty.

Why go: Park at Avondale Baptist Church and catch the trolley for a two-hour tour of seven homes. Crafts and food will be sold at the holiday market at the community club.

Why go: Local artist Pam Beagle Daresta will teach you how to make homemade paper with natural elements from the garden and recycled materials.  Suitable for ages 4 and up with adult participation. All materials included.

Why go: Among 20 local crafters are eco-friendly artists, adding an environmental aspect to this event. The event also includes a few foreign born artists, bringing their native homeland crafts, which lends a multi-cultural atmosphere to the Gift Fair.
