Breast Cancer Walkers To Pass Through Decatur, Avondale Estates

Cheering section planned Friday at the old DeKalb County Courthouse.

Walkers in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure will pass through Decatur on Friday, with a cheering section planned at the .

The walkers are expected between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The old courthouse is Mile 14.2 of the 60-mile journey to raise money and awareness of breast cancer.

The walk beings at 7:30 a.m. Friday at Stone Mountain Park. Walkers go through Stone Mountain Village, down the PATH trail through Avondale and into Decatur,Β  then continue through Candler Park into downtown Atlanta.

Day 2 and 3 have routes through other areas of the city, with the closing ceremony at 5 p.m. Sunday at Turner Field. Other cheering sections are planned along the route and can be found at the 3-Day website.
