BBQ, Blues and Bluegrass Fest Aug. 18

This will be the 12th year for the Oakhurst event.

Decatur is know for its many festivals, but most of them come in the spring and fall.

One of the major summertime event is the 12th annual Decatur BBQ Blues & Bluegrass Festival, set for 4 to 10 p.m. Aug. 18 at Harmony Park in Oakhurst.

This year’s musical lineup includes Roxy Watson, Mama’s Blue Dress, Heather Luttrell, DejaBlue Grass, and the Electromatics.


Harmony Park in the Oakhurst section of Decatur will play host to this 12th annual event. Along with BBQ, Music, and cold beer, there will be fun for the entire family including a kids area complete with train rides, face painting and arts and crafts.

There is a nominal festival fee of $10 that along with 100 percent of all proceeds goes to support the Decatur community through local grants and community based programming throughout the year.


Decatur’s 12th Annual Decatur BBQ, Blues, & Bluegrass Festival is brought to you by three non-profit groups: the Community Center of South Decatur, the Oakhurst Neighborhood Association and the Decatur Recreation Department. All proceeds of the festival will be invested directly into the Decatur community.
