Healthy Pets DeKalb Event a Big Success and DeKalb Animal Services Beautiful Pets of the Week

This past weekend, over 420 DeKalb County pet parents received free vaccinations and spay/neuter vouchers for their pets at LifeLine Animal Project’s Healthy Pets DeKalb event.  Sponsored by Second Life, an upscale thrift store in Atlanta that was created with the mission of giving homeless pets a second chance at life, the event was geared towards decreasing the number of animals ending up in shelters by helping DeKalb pet owners who have limited access to veterinary services and pet education.

“Nearly 70,000 pets die needlessly in Atlanta each year,” says LifeLine Community Outreach Director Debbie Setzer. “By improving companion animal health and providing free spay and neuters, we can significantly decrease the number of abandoned and stray animals that end up in shelters.”

A number of participants called and emailed LifeLine to thank us for providing a much needed service to their community.  Seeing the smiles on their faces and their happy, healthy pets was all the thanks we needed!
