Decorate Decatur Winners

The city has picked out the houses with the best holiday decorations.

The City of Decatur judges cruised the city through the cold and wind Sunday night to look at holiday decorations.

They found the best decorations in town and have picked the winners. The house at 208 Mead Road won the top award--the Commissioners' Cup.

Last year the Commissioners' Cup went to 332 Lockwood Terrace.

Here are some other Patch stories about decorating.

Any house that has those blow up figures should not even be considered, tacky and no beauty.

Could you list the addresses of the houses shown in the photos so that we can drive around and enjoy them in person? Thanks!

Agreed - would love to drive the kids around to see them, but don't recognize where some of these are. Are addresses available somewhere? Thanks!

Agreed. Should be grounds for disqualification, if not egging.

Must be bc I am trying to look at on my phone, but addresses weren't showing when I clicked the photos. The link gave me the info though - thanks! I and a car full of kids appreciate it!

Tacky does have its own odd attraction. If you're going tacky, though, you should go all out. Half-assed tacky is just sad. Inflatables can be incorporated well into a decorating scheme, but it does help to have a plan instead of just plugging them in to fill up space. And they sure as heck are easier to store than some of the things I've created in the past.
