Patch Pic of the Day
We all know teachers have a lot of responsibility and expectations thrust on their shoulders.
They're teachers, of course, but they're also referees, counselors, mediators, parents and mentors.
For all that, they don't get nearly the money, thanks or recognition they deserve.
But it doesn't mean they're not appreciated.
That's why when we saw this "thank you" note that Amille Hobbs, a teacher at the International Community School in Decatur, received from a former student, we decided to select it as a our Patch Pic of the Day.
Hobbs' former student, Tracy, wrote her note of thanks for helping her in math and language arts, the result being that the student is one of the smartest kids in her classes.
"I'm the second smartest one in my classes," she wrote to Hobbs. "Thank-you for helping me!"
