Today's highlight: Representatives from three major publishers will be at the Decatur Library to talk about the books coming out this fall.

Good morning, Decatur and Avondale Estates. Here are 5 Things to know about today.

1. Weather. Cloudy with a 70 percent chance of rain in the morning, 50 percent later in the day. High temps in the mid-80s and lows in the low 70s.

3. New books for the fall. The Georgia Center for the Book has invited Toni Hetzel from Random House, Dave Kliegman from Penguin and Eric Svenson of HarperCollins to talk about the new books being released this fall. The event starts at 7:15 p.m. in the Decatur Library and it's free.

4. Public Meetings. Decatur Homeowners Night at 6 p.m. and the Decatur Active Living Board at 7 p.m., both meetings in city hall.

5. On this date. In 2007, Barry Bonds hit his 756th home run, making him the major league career leader in that category. He passed Hank Aaron's mark.
