You Can Recycle Used Electronics Saturday in Decatur

You can recycle old computers, cellphones and other electronic devices from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Callaway building parking lot at 120 W. Trinity Place.

Because of construction at the Decatur Public Works building, the location for Saturday's spring electronic recycling day has changed.

The recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Callaway Building parking lot at 120 W. Trinity Place.

Recyclers should enter the parking lot from the south off Commerce Drive.

The city holds an electronics recycling event twice a year. You don't have to be a Decatur resident to take part.

Computers and computer parts, telephones and adding machines are among the things that can be recycled. A $10 fee will be charged for television sets. To see a full list of acceptable items, go to the City of Decatur webpage.

Styrofoam will not be accepted Saturday. A paper shredding and styrofoam recycling event will be held March 16 at the same location.

For more information, contact solid waste Superintendent Sean Woodson at 678-898-8562.
