Avondale Estates To Conduct Walkability Study

On March 11, a national expert will help the city assess what needs to be done to improve life for pedestrians and cyclists.

The City of Avondale Estates has hired a national expert to conduct a walkability study March 11.

Dan Burden, executive director of the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute, will help conduct the assessment. Time magazine named him one of the world’s six most important civic innovators in 2001.

The study is part of the city's plan to make the central business district more attractive, enjoyable and walkable.
