Thanksgiving Food Drive at Local Rec Centers
The county will distribute food for Thanksgiving to people in need.
DeKalb's Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs will be accepting donations of nonperishable items for its annual canned food drive now until Thursday, Nov. 21.
Several locations in Decatur are included in the list of drop-off points below.
"Citizens are encouraged to help fight hunger in their local community by dropping off nonperishable items at one of our recreational facilities during normal operating hours," said a statement from the department. "Once all items are gathered, they will be distributed to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria."

The Main Office in the Maloof Building will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., all recreation centers and the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center will be open from 1 to 5 p.m.
