Raise Funds for Equine Activities and Outreach Programs

Little Creek Farm Conservancy will hold aFall Festival on October 19th, 2013 to raise funds to promote the
stewardship of Little Creek Farm for equine activities, including educational,
environmental and recreational outreach programs for the community. The Fall
Festival will include pony rides, professional riding demonstrations,
equestrian drill team, games, crafts, food and local vendors.

The Conservancy board aims to raise $10,000

or more to enable the Conservancy to continue providing valuable community
programs, such as Hands on Horses barn tours, as well as to develop areas

Little Creek Farm is a facility of DeKalb
County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. Partnering with DeKalb County, Little Creek Farm Conservancy provides
support to management for maintenance of the pastures, barn, and surrounding
green space at Little Creek. The Conservancy also assists with maintenance of
the arenas and routinely provides landscaping and creek clean-up through
special events. Through outreach, the Conservancy provides community programs
and field trips for children, seniors, and special needs groups, as well as
supporting Stride Ahead in their Equine-Assisted Therapy programs for adults
and children. As a private non-profit foundation, the Conservancy relies on
grants and support of individual donors.

“The Fall Festival is our largest fundraising
event of the year,” says Nicole Thomas, Chair of Fundraising for the Little
Creek Farm Conservancy, “We have so many great projects underway – the new
outdoor riding arena, expanded Hands on Horses tours, plans to revive the
walking trails around the farm – and we’re excited for the community to visit

the farm and support our mission.”

The Fall Festival is set for Saturday, October
19, 2013. The event’s biggest draw is pony rides open to the public. Each ride
will be $8 and all riders will be photographed by a professional photographer;
photos can be downloaded and printed after the event. Children must be at least

4 years of age and 36 inches tall to ride. Other activities at the Festival

include professional riding demonstrations, a presentation by an equine

masseuse, pet adoptions, crafts table, and games, which are open to children of
all ages. Frozen treats will be available from King of Pops. During the
Festival, the Conservancy will also be officially turning over the new,

state-of-the-art outdoor riding arena to DeKalb County.
