Finally, an in-town class to help you get your feet wet in the world of herbalism! This series is for beginners wishing to bring herbal healing into their daily lives. We will explore herbal medicine based on energetics, seasonal health, and body systems. This series is a blend of lecture and hands-on instruction, with students making basic herbal preparations (salves, syrups, tinctures, and infusions) to start building their own home apothecary.

About the Instructor:
Lorna Mauney-Brodek – also known as The Herbalista – is a traveling herbalist, medicine maker, wildcrafter and teacher. Much of her herbwork supports organizations dedicated to promoting diversity, environmental responsibility, and social justice. Growing up “americana,” her health practices reflect the abundantly diverse influences of these lands to blend western medical herbalism, traditional chinese five phase, ayurveda, and southern folk. She maintains a clinical practice and apothecary in East Atlanta and teaches at various venues around the southeast, including BotanoLogos, the Blue Ridge School, and The Herb Kitchen. She also runs a revolutionary mobile apothecary to benefit underserved populations called The Herb Bus.
