Set in the beautiful Historic DeKalb Courthouse in downtown Decatur, this visual arts installation by Atlanta artist, Charmaine Minniefield is a preview of The New Freedom Project* incorporating custom ancestral research and art specific to DeKallb County. In this 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation The New Freedom Project remembers FREEDOM. View this visual "shrine" and participate in a conversation with the artist on the importance of remembering the ancestors whose sacrifices paved the way to freedom today.
