First of three sessions and you MUST attend one if you want to apply for 2014 Training Class that starts Jan. 8th, 2014. DeKalb Extension will select the top 25 applicants out of those that apply. This is the only way to get an application for this state and nationally recognized program. What you need to apply: Be a resident of DeKalb County (Clayton, Fulton & Gwinnett applicants need to apply in their home counties but we train together) Have an interest in gardening but NOT necessarily be an expert Have time for the training (55 hours of daytime training, Weds. from Jan 8th through end of March) Have a proven track record of volunteer and community service Have the time to donate 50 or more hours of volunteer service assisting DeKalb Extension with its education efforts. Be willing to pay a $150 fee to cover course expenses.
