Avondale Estates Poetry Reading

Avondale Estates poet Deborah
Monroy will be featured poet at the monthly Avondale Estates poetry reading on
Tuesday August 6 at Savage Pizza ( corner of Laredo and N Clarendon) at 8 P.M.
Open reading begins at 7 p.m. when other poets may read their works and poetry
lovers can share favorite poems by other authors.

Deborah Monroy writes
expressively and movingly about birds and other natural themes, loved and
not-so-loved and paradoxical, including coyotes. She is winner of the first
Gerard Manley Hopkins Poetry Award from Georgia State. She is also a
photographer whose work is collected by private and corporate collectors in San
Francisco, Atlanta and New York. Her work has been shown in Atlanta at the
Backdrop Gallery and the Swan Coach House Gallery, and it appears monthly on
the Avondale poetry reading’s posters displayed at various locations around
Avondale and Decatur.

Join us for a great evening
of poetry, conversation and yummy pizza!
