Atlanta Cheese Festival

Gourmet Foods International (GFI) is celebrating “milk’s leap toward immortality” by showcasing more than 50 of the most recognized and celebrated cheese and artisan food producers from across the globe in the inaugural Atlanta Cheese Festival.

The festivities will begin with a Grilled Cheese Meltdown competition from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to vote after sampling grilled cheese sandwich creations from a range of competitors one of which will be crowned Atlanta’s Grilled Cheese Champion. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., VIP ticket holders will participate in a beer and cheese pairing, hosted by the Institut du Fromage’s lead education trainer, Michael Landis. Appearances from other cheese professionals include Star Provisions cheesemonger Tim Gaddis alongside John Greeley, Helmut Holzer and Todd Druhot. The Packway Handle Band will take the stage from 7:30 to 9 p.m., while Moreland & Arbuckle will rock out from 9 to 11 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale at www.atlantacheesefestival.com/index.php/tickets, and proceeds will benefit the Giving Kitchen. General admission tickets are $35 and include:

·  Access to the cheese market where attendees can taste samples and purchase items directly from the producer.
·  Access to live music from The Packway Handle Bar and Moreland & Arbuckle
·  Two 10-ounce beer tickets
·  Taste & Vote for the champion of the Grilled Cheese Meltdown

VIP tickets are $50 and include:

·  Access to the cheese market where attendees can taste samples and purchase items directly from the producer.
·  Access to live music from The Packway Handle Bar and Moreland & Arbuckle
·  Four 10-ounce beer tickets
·  Taste & Vote for the champion of the Grilled Cheese Smackdown
·  Reusable thermal grocery bag filled with cheese lover necessities, samples and coupons
·  Exclusive access to a beer and cheese pairing hosted by acclaimed cheese professionals
